My iron is 42 ug/dl my ferritin is 15.9 ng/ml. my hgb is 12.8 gm/ dl and hct is 40.6% mchc is 31.5 gm/dl and rdw- cv is 15.4% my aprn says this shows a moderate iron deficiency anemia. yes? or no? please explain?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results are marginally low, and, taking oral iron supplement may be useful. Wish you good health!
