Hi my partner is asthmatic & had the flu, his cough is not going away its been 3 weeks . he complains about coughing blood and shortness of breath?

Needs exam: Asthma patients can have significant complication of flu particularly when it attacks the lungs. The persistent cough is not as unexpected or worrisome as coughing up blood. I would encourage him to get in for an exam & possible testing/x-rays.
