A member asked:

Been having bleeding. last menses 51 yrs. i'm 61 now. did a cervical - thinprep. results : possible high grade glandular lesion. abnormal glandular ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Abnormal bleeding: Any vaginal bleeding after menopause (especially after 10 years,) needs to be evaluated. A PAP smear is good, but it doesn't look inside the uterus. For that you need an ultrasound and an endometrial biopsy or procedure to look at the type of tissue growing. Endometrial cancer is very treatable if caught early. No vaginal bleeding after menopause should ever be ignored. Please seek further care!
