I hope that you: have been back to the GYN doing more Pap smears and/or colposcopy since your last abnormal one 8 years ago. If you have not please make an appointment immediately to be seen by GYN specialist. Heavy menstruation may or may not have anything to do with the cervical abnormality, and when in flux your hormones may need to be "reset" with the help of contraceptives.
