A member asked:

I am 30 weeks pregnant and my colleague has been diagnosed with chicken pox. i dnt spent time around them but do share common areas with them.. should i be worried?

Yes & no: If you never had chickenpox it is more risk to you than baby at this stage of pregnancy. If CPX develops the last week of pregnancy or at delivery it can be fatal to baby. If you had it as a kid, or were vaccinated, it should not be a problem for either. Since the virus can be spread in the air brief exposure nearby can pass the germ.Incubation is 10-21 days. Discuss meds with your OB if you erupt
