A member asked:

What are the chances of defects in ovum or sperms in the case of getting pregnant one month after chicken pox (in both partners)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely an issue: Cpx is not known to target the ovary so ovum defects if present would be unrelated. There are some reports of an inflammation of the testis with the disease but this is also unlikely to be a factor. Sperm that are altered by any force are not the healthy swimmers that produce a pregnancy. Cpx during pregnancy can produce fetal changes & neonatal cpx detected at birth is life threatening.
