My baby had a fever yesterday around 15h00. i gave him calpol and suppositories. he still has a fever of 38.5 when the medicine stops working?

As expected: Any illness that triggers fever will last as long as it does to run it's course. This may be a day or two or a week depending on the illness. Fever meds, if anything just take a degree off the top & when gone the body returns to baseline.
