A member asked:

My son has an extremely stuffy nose, low grade fever, headache. he has allergies and have been increasingly stuffy for the past several days. i suspect he has a sinus infection.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

URI: Presence of low grade fever indicates an upper respiratory tract infection which is most likely viral at this time. In my opinion, antibiotics are not yet indicated unless symptoms have exceeded a week or are worsening. Treatment now would be resting, drinking adequate fluids, taking Tylenol and using a nasal decongestant spray according to instructions.
