Can ebv cause general swelling of lymph nodes in the body ?

It “could”: However (in my experience) the lymph node swelling tends to be most pronounced in the tonsils and neck. Since EBV is a viral infection, it would not be surprising to see a lymph node reaction elsewhere in the body depending on the degree of viral infection/viral load of the individual.
