Sciatica: I think sciatica should be treated with some resting and, if you can take them, anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or naproxen. If symptoms persist more than 4-6 weeks, if pain worsens in intensity, if you're unable to sleep, or if leg weakness develops then an MRI of the lumbosacral spine and a consultation with a neurosurgeon are indicated for diagnosis and treatment options.
