Should a vegetarian diet help me lose weight?

Yes: The secret is that properly-chosen vegetarian foods don't taste as good and aren't as addictive as the stuff that the rest of us overeat. There's much less grease / sugar / salt and it's actually a smart option, though the other health benefits are (from my reading of the big epidemiologic studies) overrated. Any fitness-focused athletic lifestyle with sensible food choices does you a big favor.
