A member asked:

Is mri order for pelvis with both si joints unusual? tech said most docs order separately if they want hips. i told tech same order for x ray no issue

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI: When ordering MRI's the radiologist asks us to be very specific about what we're looking for and what we want imaged. Apparently your physician isn't concerned about hip pathology. There may not be enough diagnostic information about the hip joints in the study that was ordered. Before you go, if you think you may have hip pathology, ask your physician to specify hips examination as well.
