A member asked:

I was walking & stopped to measured bp it was 160/70, oftenly when i measure it sys is high (specially when standing), di is normal, what's that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be normal: Blood pressure is elevated during exertion and this is a normal response. If your resting BP is normal then i don't see any reason for concern. So, check your blood pressure while resting and see if there will be any change such as reading systolic below 140. If it is 160 , it is hypertension and see your doctor for an evaluation.
