A member asked:

How would small fiber neuropathy of the face be diagnosed? would a skin punch be done there as well?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Small fiber sensory neuropathy is diagnosed, or ruled out, using lab tests, electromyography, and, yes, skin biopsies, but the biopsy is usually after other tests, if at all. Signs and symptoms are important too.
