YES: Palpitations may represent a number of different problems, an often are symptoms of an abnormal heart rhythm. The abnormal rhythms can originate in the upper part of the heart(atria) or the lower chambers(ventricles) and can very in severity and risk to the patient. Mitral valve prolapse increases your chances of abnormal rhythms and palpitations that can cause dizziness. See cardiologist.
