Maxillary Extraction: In certain instances the extraction of a posterior maxillary tooth can cause sinus problems. It is not that common. The roots may have been long and they may have extended into the sinus... only your surgeon knows for sure. Your sinus issues and pain may not be related to the extraction, but unfortunately it may take more time for the pain and pressure to resolve if they are related.
