P.E. tubes in ear: generally last 1-2 years and then gradually grow out of the tympanic membrane and may remain loose in the ear canal without symptoms and eventually fall out. Your ENT specialist may have recommended a routine follow up, or your primary doctor can check your ears at routine visits. If you have ear pain or decreased hearing symptoms, be sure to get this checked out.
