A member asked:

Why would my doctor not put me on estrogen after having full hysterectomy if we need estrogen for better health in our bodies confused ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Post BSO: The average age of menopause is 51 (your age) at which point the ovaries would naturally stop making Estrogen. While some women can experience uncomfortable symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, etc, these can dissipate with time. Good health comes from regular exercise, a healthy diet, and stress management. Estrogen replacement is not necessary in an asymptotic patient for good health.
