Not certain: In my reading this would be avoided - the recommendation is: It is especially important to avoid folic acid, which is the synthetic form of folate, if you and/or your baby has MTHFR gene mutations. 4 mg : 4 mg is not a particularly high dose. It is a typical dose for certain patients with specific medical conditions.
