Fluids: Keep him well hydrated with water and electrolyte solution for children. Monitor his temperature and control fever with Tylenol. If it persists or is associated with pain, please see a doctor right away.

Ice chips: Most of these are due to self healing viruses that affect the kid in phases.The start with vomiting & cramps & eventually have diarrhea. Maintaining their fluid balance with ice chips & small amounts of oral fluid/given frequently will stabilize them giving time to improve. You can gradually increase volume of fluids/time unless he spits up, then it was too much at once.
