Benefits likely : outweigh risks. As with nearly any medication, there are risks and benefits. Prozac/fluoxetine has been in use for many years and, in general, is safe. Common side effects include headache, nausea, restlessness, insomnia which generally improve over time. Sexual side effects also reported. RARELY, low blood sodium, glaucoma, "serotonin syndrome" ECG changes or even suicidal thoughts occur.
