A member asked:

I have gastritis (just inflammation in my intestines) and i'm 18 years old, 109 pound girl. i wanted to ask if excessive belching is normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some basics: The air released in a belch comes from air you swallow during ingestion of food or fluids. Some also swallow more either consciously or without knowing it. Gastritis is an irritation of your stomach wall. By itself it has little to do with creating any extra air to belch.
