Not normal: Blood in the stool is not normal and needs to be explained. Causes can range from local irritation, anal fissure ( crack in the tissue), hemorrhoid, polyp, to cancer. You will need to see a health care provider to get a diagnosis.

Have bouts of pebble poops on & off for 6mo between regular stool. No blood except 1x when wiping few months back (super small amount, bright red. had hemorrhoids). Is that what drs mean when they say changes in bowel movements could be colon cancer?
