More info Needed : To start, you did not mention anything about the fracture. Time, place on foot (the bone broken) and type of care. Was it immobilized? And for how long? Weight bearing yes or no during the healing process. Were X-rays taken? These type of questions and the respective answers will help to answer your question

26 bones: There are 26 bones in each foot and most of them are able to be fractured. There is a major difference between each bone as far as the process after heeling. And there is a possibility the swelling is unrelated to the fracture. To find out the case of the swelling some tests should be done at a clinic and once the cause is determined then you can be treated successfully.
