Yes but: You may have an autoimmune reaction against the thyroid before any malfunctioning develops. However it would not account for the symptoms related to overactive or underactive thyroid. If your symptoms consist of mainly fatigue, consider other causes (including depression).

Went to the doc for cold sore and enlarged neck lymph node. Its been 2.5 weeks lymph node still enlarged. Ultrasound says bilateral reactive lymph nodes. All blood work normal. Any ideas why its still enlarged? I think it feels a bit smaller?
