Some basics: The most common cause of mild anemia is inadequate dietary intake of the iron that is important to blood production. Blood loss, through a variety of areas or poor production due to other issues usually cause lower levels. Increasing you intake of iron containing foods or taking an iron supplement could help. I would discuss the issue with your doc & proceed as you both find reasonable.
