Yes, it can.: If you would like to have the tooth extracted, then have your dentist extract it or have him/her refer you to an oral surgeon.

Yes it can: As can infection of the surrounding gum tissues. You may want to seek a second opinion, preferably from an Oral Surgeon, a wisdom tooth specialist.
