Facial nerve: Impingement of the facial nerve could cause facial pain or paralysis of facial muscles with resultant inability to close the eye, wrinkle the forehead and the side of the face will droop. I'm not aware of scar tissue around the tmj causing this. A neurologist can evaluate and advise you if you have this concern.
