Return To Doctor Now: Persistence of sore throat after 3 days antibiotics suggests probable viral infection. More details needed such as duration of symptoms, presence of fever/swollen neck glands, and more. Was Strep testing done? Mononucleosis (virus) can cause serious illness; early on symptoms can appear similar to Strep throat however no response to antibiotics. Return to doctor now for re-evaluation/treatment.
