Good day my son, 3 years old, stays at home with my mother. he fell off of the bed while sleeping and bumped his cheek against the chest of drawers. next to the bed. my mother says his whole cheek has quickly started to swell tremendously.

It happens: He likely broke a blood vessel inside the skin that triggered the swelling. These will often show later as a deep bruise. If it interferes with his feeding & play have him seen, if not you can monitor it at home & it may self heal.
