My 74 year old mother. is thinner than ever, exhausted. shes had scans of everywhere, her head, chest, abdomen, countless bloodwork. shes seen many dr was low in iron but had transfusion didnt help. what to do now? what diseases can be missed?

It would be reasonable to gather her medical records and test results and seek a consultation with a diagnostic center. These are often found at medical schools or large multispecialty clinics. He regular doc may have connections to get her in sooner. Suggesting a label for her issues is not reasonable without a full review of all the past work.

A variety of conditions may associate weight loss and fatigue and sometimes they are hard to diagnose. In time patients become depressed/demoralized and that is only worsening their overall status. In time and remaining with current team for continuity of care (a second opinion at a tertiary center may definitely help) a diagnosis will surface, physical exercise remains critical to retain function
