GFR of 43: If real GFR is 43, you have stage 3 ckd. If may be caused by your proteinuria. Speak to a nephrologist to see if your proteinuria is caused by a disease that can be treated. After finding out its cause, see if you can preserve or recover some kidney function, or not lose any more by some form of treatment of the underlying disease causing your proteinuria. Good luck.

Between 2017 -now (maybe even before) my gfr has ranged from 61-57. All other labs wnl. No protein in urine. Normal kidney US. Dr not worried. do have some barely noticeable edema in shins but Im pretty sedentary. Could this be why or kidney disease?

Stable/controlled lupus on Plaquenil. No hx of organ involvement. Had 100+ protein in urine 1 yr ago & RBC in urine (not UTI) that was missed by doc No protein this time. RBC in urine always (currently 3-5). If BMP is normal, is kidneys no concern?
