Proteinuria: is the end result of kidney function, infection, infalammation, autoimmune disease, dabetes, hypertension or vascular illness. I suggest the following: renal ultrasound, 24 hr. urine analysis. nephrology consultation, diabetic screening, autoimmune screening and checking for kidney infection/inflammation.

See below : Persistent protein in the urine (aka proteinuria) is often a sign of kidney damage or disease and can be due to a variety of causes: acute (reversible?) vs chronic (controllable). The goal is to determine the precise cause(s) and severity so that the best treatment can be prescribed. This evaluation (via further blood, urine, and imaging tests) and treatment is best performed by a nephrologist.
