A member asked:

Can topical clindamycin effect ibs? i have ibs, and use clindamycin only on my face and upper neck for acne, once a day. my formula is 2% azelaic acid, 1% clindamycin, and 4% niacinamide. i do not take anything for the ibs, just lifestyle management

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clindamycin: Topical clindamycin can be absorbed through the skin and has been known to cause diarrhea and, uncommonly, severe intestinal inflammation. Dermatologists have more experience with side effects of topical clindamycin, however.
