A member asked:

I had a removal of abnormal tissue growth on my upper back. the surgeon said that it contained some fat and that the surrounding area showed a lot of tension hence i had a lot of pain. he said that it's a lipoma and it was not tested, this worries me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lipoma: Lipoma is rarely ever malignant ( liposarcoma) Still is a good idea to send surgical specimens for evaluation by pathology in my opinion You have no reason to worry though
