Big Difference: Your surgeon most likely diagnosed your lipoma from the location, consistency and appearance on your body. Lipomas often present as superficial accumulation of fatty tissue that may feel soft and compressible. Muscle is composed of tissues that are usually firmer and are capable of contracting with movement.
