A member asked:

Which type of drugs or over-the-counter drugs effect tooth formation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tetracycline, fluori: The most common ones are tetracycline and fluoride. Tetracycline taken while the teeth are forming causes staining in shades of brown/yellow or purple/gray horizontal bands on the teeth. Fluoride is important to take while teeth are forming to make the teeth stronger but if taken in excess it can cause fluorosis which can make the teeth a dark brown with white splotches. There may be others too.
