Oil of clove: If there's actually a cavity in your tooth oil of clove is the most useful natural supplement that deadens the nerve endings. If your tooth is breaking through the gums a good scrub and swish with warm salt water usually helps. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen work well in combination. If you are swollen and are having trouble breathing or swallowing dial 911. But a dentist will help you most.

Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen): Its important to identify the actual cause of the pain, weather its related to your teeth or gums. Generally, Ibuprofen is an excellent over the counter pain killer for tooth pain, usually better than tylenol (acetaminophen). If you have a swelling of any kind you should seek professional attention as you may have an abscess which could be serious. Only take these drugs if its safe for you. Wish you all the best.

Find the cure...: If you recently had wisdom teeth out, call your dentist. If you didn't, call your dentist. Like a splinter in your finger, dental pain exists because there is a problem. Would you take pain medication or antibiotics to manage the splinter? Not likely: you would take it out! solve the problem & be well. In the interim, your dentist can prescribe the best medication for your specific need :-).
