OTC Medication: Different oral medications work differently for different people. Whatever you take for a headache will work similarly for a tooth ache. Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Tylenol are some common ones. There are also topical medications that can be purchased at a local pharmacy but their effect is minimal at best. The best advice I have for you is see a dentist asap! Medications dull but do not solve problems

See your Dentist : If you have enough pain that you need medicine, you have a serious issue that needs to be fixed before it gets worse. No medicine can do more than dull the pain for a few days. Call a dentist today. The relief will be tremendous. Till then try whatever you take for a headache, but don't expect the pain to just go away.
