A doctor has provided 1 answer

Duration of illness: of acute bronchitis is usually several weeks with full resolution. Chronic bronchitis is infection of the lung with accumulation of mucous and inflammation of the bronchial tubes that lasts months and is often recurrent over several years and may result in permanent damage of the bronchial tubes. Rx is long term & involves an inhaler with actions against both inflammation and reactive airways.
