Virtual consultation: A virtual consultation with Healthtap is available. The mucus can be sent for culture. Monitor your temperature and your symptoms, and watch for signs of fever and difficulty breathing, Drink fluids and rest. It may take two weeks to resolve. GERD and aspiration may worsen symptoms. Take a proton pump inhibitor over the counter and sleep with two pillows. Please see your physician for follow up.
