Looking for answers to a second trimester twin loss with painless cervical dilation and membrane rupture, no prior signs or symptoms

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cervix insufficiency: The inability of the cervix to retain a pregnancy in the second trimester is referred to as cervical insufficiency. This is dilation of the cervix without symptoms of contractions or labor in the second trimester. No definite cause has been identified, but there factors which may increase risk. You may be a candidate for a cerclage in a future pregnancy to help maintain the pregnancy.
