A member asked:

What are the symptoms of premature prolonged membranes rupture and is there any way to prevent them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Waters break: Kind of hard to miss when the waters break; if it's before 36 weeks it's premature, and if it's longer than 24 hours from rupture to delivery it's prolonged. Appropriate prenatal care and prevention of infections is how one prevents that from happening.
