A member asked:

What are the best moisturising creams you recommend for dermatitis in babies?baby is 5months & can moisturising creams be mixed with steroid creams.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I don't: A babies skin is well designed to self lubricate & does not need creams or lotions to stay healthy. Diaper areas subject to moisture can benefit from barrier products like zinc oxide.Dermatitis, when it occurs should be treated specifically to the cause. Steroid creams can thin the skin & make it less capable of retaining it's barrier function. When used it should be limited & stopped when possible
