A member asked:

Although rare, i suspect my pituitary tumor is secreting lh & have that not pcos. is there anything my endocrinologist can do to confirm this for me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCOS: With PCOS, the pattern of LH production mimics a "male pattern" in that there is not the short "surge" and rapid decrease seen at ovulation , but a steady production of LH in the absence of ovulation. Oral bcp's (if there are no contraindications) is a way to stop ovarian production completely, and reduce your chances of uterine disease due to constant estrogen production.
