Tender gums: Can be caused by burn, abrasion, traumatic occlusion, inflammatory (infection) gum disease, gum recession, systemic problem such as diabetes, GERD, eating disorder, food/medication/supplement allergy/sensitivity, localized virul/bacterial/fungal disorder, calculus (tarter), and dozens of other possibilities.
