Can a lymph node section cultured be stained to look for cancer, and can the pathologist tell me how big the section cultured is?

Does not add up: If a lymph node is divided for culture and microscopic examination, the part used for culture is usually ground up for inoculation of culture media. The cultured part will not be available to look for cancer.
