I am 52 & exercise regularly, but can't lose weight - i am 6' tall & weight about 220lbs. i have read about fasting diets it seems to be a way to control insulin - i am currently eating in a 10 hr window & fasting for 14hr. will this drop weight?

Probably, but: you want to see your doctor for assessment and routine tests, as thyroid function tests, lipid profile, hemoglobin A1c, etc, or any other tests needed after history and physical examination, then a dietician consultation would be helpful, good luck

Weight loss: Please start w/a visit to your primary care doc to identify or rule out medical conditions. Ask him/her about the ketogenic diet. That is high good fat and low carbs. The body burns fat for fuel rather than sugar. Peace and good health.

Not necessarily: What you eat in balance & quantity along with how you burn off calories will determine the effect. You are really not fasting if just 14 hrs. Most of the population follows this pattern. Make sure your doc considers you healthy & then consider following a change in dietary intake. Adkins low carb works for most by pushing your body into using fat to create carbs.
