A member asked:

How can oligoclonal band testing have the result: "zero oligoclonal bands in csf. two paired bands in csf and serum "?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not specific to CSF: For the oligoclonal banding result to be called positive, there have to be bands in CSF that are not present in serum. In your case there were no bands in CSF that were not present in the serum, The CSF bands were derived from serum not from synthesis in the brain. Your result is a good sign.
