Behavioral health: Many people struggling with chronic disease may not be able to participate in usual activities at all times. Treatment is meant to help move people towards normal activity. Don't give up on your friend, try again after some time. Good luck.

Likely her condition: Bipolar describes 2 sides of the emotional spectrum. Sometimes they are up & sometimes they may be so down they cannot move. Many will skip their meds when up because they like the outgoing productive effects, but this may trigger a down cycle. I wouldn't blame the meds as much as the condition. You can help by making them aware you care & encouraging them to keep in treatment.
